This project saw the delivery of a development approval that included the retention of the existing pre-1946 home with a modern extension that addressed key character requirements of the planning scheme. In capturing the vision of award winning architect, Shaun Lockyer, the development was promptly approved via Brisbane City Council’s Risksmart program.

On this occasion we were able to obtain a development approval for a contempory home within a catchment of strong character significance. Through expressing the proposal’s key character traits, we overcame the predominate traditional housing, resulting in a modern home that sits comfortably within its surrounds.

This development achieved a 3 storey form within a streetscape that is predominantly 2 storeys. Through rigid negotiations with Council, a development approval was granted for what is now a compact modern home that optimises the land characteristics.
